This news comes from Harrah’s Entertainment this morning.  The live stage version of the longest running game show in the history of television is getting a temporary new host.  Joey Fatone, of NSYNC and My Big Fat Greek Wedding fame, will host the show at Bally’s Las Vegas from September 14th-25th 2010.  This is probably a way for the producers of the show to test Joey out.  If he succeeds then perhaps this will be a permanent gig for him.  No news about the previous host Todd Newton and his status with the show, but it can’t be good when they bring in new talent.  I was always a Backstreet fan myself but I do wish Joey the best of luck!!

About the show – ““The Price is Right – Live” Stage Show at Bally’s Las Vegas.  The show, from FremantleMedia, producers of “American Idol” and “The Price Is Right” TV shows, features such fan-favorite games as “Plinko,” “Cliff Hangers,” “The Big Wheel,” and of course, “Showcase Showdown.” Joey Fatone will enlist audience members to play for their chance to win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.”

Harrah’s Entertainment is gearing up for one of the most memorable fiesta celebrations on the Las Vegas Strip with four days of Mexican Independence Day festivities taking place Sept. 15-18, 2010.

Commemorating 200 years of Mexican Independence, the fun begins with Latin singing superstar Luis Miguel as he spices things up with four nights of special holiday concerts during Mexican Independence Day week at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.  One of the most successful and prolific musical artists in Latin American history, Miguel takes the stage at 9 p.m. nightly Sept. 15-18. Miguel’s string of chart-topping hits is virtually unrivaled and he has consistently broken many box office records. Tickets for this unique musical experience are $95, $155, $185 and $250 and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 702-474-4000, in-person at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace box office, or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.

Tequila lovers rejoice. The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino is hosting the fourth annual Las Vegas Tequila Fest, Sept. 17-18. A unique tequila tasting event, sample legendary brands from renowned international labels as well as new and upcoming brands from spirits distilled in the heart of Mexico. Continuous live entertainment adds to the festive atmosphere. The event takes place in the Miranda Room on Sept. 17 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sept. 18 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Guests must be 21 years of age with a valid ID.  Tickets are $60 and available in-person at the Rio Box Office, by calling 702-777-7776 or visiting www.ticketmaster.com.

The celebration doesn’t end there; The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino is also hosting the Las Vegas International Mariachi Festival on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 8:00 p.m.  This historic gala commemorates 20 years as the most prestigious Mariachi event in the United States and is proud to include special guests Shaila Durcal and Antonio Aguilar Jr. along with Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, Mariachi Sol de Mexico de José Hernández and Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano The festival will take place at The Pavillion with elegant table seating available.  Tickets are $75, $110, $150 and $185, available for purchase at the Rio Box Office, by calling 702-777-7776 or visiting www.ticket master.com.

The Art-O-Mat original Art vending machine will be another unique feature to the Cosmopolitan resort in Las Vegas.  The Cosmopolitan is set to open on December 15, 2010.  The hotel will feature several art pieces throughout the hotel and in all the rooms, but a unique (and trademarked) vending machine will take modern art to a whole new level.  The machines are currently being installed on the second floor of the hotel.  One of these super modern and stylish Art-O-Mat’s was previously featured in the Andy Warhol museum.  Old cigarette machines turned into quick art vending machines.  Artists from all over the world will be featured in this machine and with a pull of a lever you can own a cool piece of art.  From gaming cabanas to art vending machines the Cosmopolitan is sure to wow everyone when it opens this December.

FREE NFL kickoff viewing party at Encore theater Wynn Las Vegas.  The doors open at 4:30pm on September 9th.  Prizes will be awarded after each quarter of the game. Serendipity 3 LAS VEGAS

Serendipity, according to dictionary.com, means good fortune and there’s no better way to describe Serendipity 3 in Las Vegas.  The city is so lucky to have a location and should cherish it always.  A special restaurant that specializes in super sized eats and treats that are beyond sinfully good.  The restaurant is located near the entrance of Caesars Palace, across from Donny and Marie’s giant faces on the Las Vegas Strip.  The decor is fun and resembles Mad Hatter’s tea party, with a touch of Doctor Seuss, very fun and whimsical.  Like a kid in a candy store my eyes and mouth opened wide as I entered the restaurant.

I did not order any food because I came to Serendipity for one thing.  FRRRRRROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE!! They have perfected and trademarked this amazing concoction.  They are famous for their over sized desserts but this one takes home the grand prize for most likely to break diets everywhere.  You can’t find it anywhere and if you do it wouldn’t be the same.  I will be visiting Serendipity every time I am near Caesars Palace and Donny and Marie’s giant faces.
